water jewel glitter go
down down the dark hunger
of the drain
in dream pipe wander
luxury we squander
from tail finned mind
Sputnik and Laika
rust and bones
and water
rushing
water gushing

douse magic
douse waste
shaving
and wake
wake from
water dreams
of swimming

mermaiden depths
and night
in the thick of silence
hear the tap tap
of the water drop dance
hear the rushing of nights
constellations
silent sweep
and the water rising
knee deep

This took...

me on a trip down the drain! What I got from this; was the impending disaster that we face, from global-warming, and the wasting of our resources. I just didn't get the reference to Sputnik, and the dog Lakia.

Well man can send a spaceship

Well man can send a spaceship into the universe with animals or was your reference to the dogstar which I guess this earth could be called. Down the drain is pretty apt right now.

calm calamity

space race was so big in my youth
all the work even today
and yet we take it in everyday
in our city we have beautiful water
from spring fed lakes
but in my travels water was rusted
with minerals etc
and I hauled water from wells
in my time
there is nothing like water freshly drawn
from a hand pipe or drive point
and yet water is dear
the world is hurting per usual
but it is a luxury we were given
was just thinking about that one
day I just liked Sputnik and
remember reading about the dog
Laika such a pretty name

saw on television a filter so they can stop
having to burn fuel to sterilize their water
just pour it in the tube Lifestraw or something
its called It will save so much emmission
that was good to see
