Clearing My 2024's Junk Drawer

A year ended, and started anew,
Here is its drawer I'm looking into.
Too bad memories I'm gonna forget,
Dreams and wishes, I'd rather reset.

Wars and troubles that stole my land,
Relationships I don't understand
Homeless kids, without identity,
Lost and found, with no integrity.
.
Thus, it's time to throw this junk,
And get me ready for a whopping chunk?

Clearing My 2024's Junk Drawer

Hello, Rula,
I feel your heart in this one. I, too, wish we could throw away all the junk.
Hoping and praying for all the ugliness to have an end.
Thank you, My Friend,
Lx

Hello Kawque

Thank you for the kind visit.
The last line is questioning if I have to get ready for more troubles (whooping chunk).
I'm open for any suggestions to smooth the flow.
Much appreciate it.

Oh

Was the chunk a play on junk? If so, don't change it :)

I was questioning the last line as it took the poem, in my view, from serious and resolute...to questioning. Perhaps you achieved your point quite well ;)
