Mission Call

Standing alone in my ghostly room
Wondering if some day soon-
I will be the spirit that echoes the walls
For all my friends have their mission calls

What to do
Where to go
Am I behind
None of which I know

The mirror reflects my shadowed figure
Much more raw, thinner than a picture
To spend my days to apply?
Or is it the Lord that I deny...

What to do
Where to go
My faith held still
Awaiting a sign to show-

What I am going to do now.

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

The poem "Mission Call" explores themes of uncertainty, self-reflection, and faith in the context of waiting for a mission call. The imagery of standing alone in a ghostly room and questioning one's purpose is evocative and sets a contemplative tone. The repetition of questions like "What to do, Where to go" effectively conveys the speaker's inner turmoil and indecision. The comparison of the mirror reflecting a "shadowed figure" emphasizes a sense of vulnerability and introspection.

One suggestion for improvement would be to further develop the emotional depth of the speaker's struggle with faith and decision-making. Exploring specific details or experiences that have led to this internal conflict could enhance the reader's understanding and connection to the speaker's journey. Additionally, considering varying the poem's structure or incorporating poetic devices like metaphor or symbolism could add layers of complexity and nuance to the themes being explored.

Overall, "Mission Call" effectively captures the uncertainty and introspection that come with waiting for a significant

Hello M,

some of my friends are shadow people, as am I. A questioning of faith is one of those things that should be done...to see if it holds water. It is healthy to question...I know this for a fact. I enjoyed your poem very much. It is nice to meet you, welcome to Neopoet!

always, Cat
