I really...
get this one. I am often alone at night; my sleeping habits are such that my wife and I cannot sleep in the same room. I have my T.V. on 24/7 so that I don't have to be alone in the quiet of the night. Nice stuff, ~ Geez.

Hello, Geezer,
Yes, a little noise can silence the "aloneness" we may feel, especially in the middle of the night. In this moment, I was physically comfortable, nice and cool on a hot summer night, yet very lonely. Aah, well...
Thank you!

I can hear it and get the feeling.
Isn't it amazing how we can get it all compacted in such a succinct piece
Nice stuff dear friend
Always in my thoughts as a dear friend 💕

Hello, Rula,
Yes, that tiny "tic tic" whisper from the fan was so noticeable during the long, lonely night. Not much more to say about it at the time.
Thank you for always sending positive energy!

Hi Lavender,In this one, you…
Hi Lavender,
In this one, you've stripped everything back, What remains is the sense of being alone. No sentiment, just stoic detachment. It works because you've pared the poem down to its bare essentials and delivered your unflinching honesty. Ruby xx

Hello, Ruby,
The mood seemed ironic - physically very comfortable, but the loneliness was almost overbearing and evident while noticing the soft noise of the ceiling fan.
Thank you for reading!

I love the brevity and in-the-moment capture here, L! Our ceiling fan makes the same noise too, so I really connected with this piece - well done!

Hello, Michael,
Thank you for reading! Sometimes that soft sound of the fan is soothing. Sometimes it's a little sad. Dunno...
Thanks, again!
