Live in the moment

Falling through
windows of time.
You can never stop
on a dime.

It's just like
a freight train,
that carries
the weight.

The coal cars,
keep coming,
my senses
are numbing!

We may be able,
to live through
this slew, you cannot
stop what will be!

Accept the truth,
with a good attitude,
and maybe the truth
will shine through!

The river is rising
and it's never surprising,
just what the mind
can go through!

About This Poem

Last Few Words: I'm not really looking for a critique on my form or syntax or anything else. I'm just trying to explain how I feel, which may be distorted at best. When you try to write something and your mind won't obey, you simply portray the malaise inside of you. You're never really what you want to be. If I could go back and make two or three consistent choices I might not be in the mess that I am, but knowing I'm just mortal I continue to struggle. I wonder if I'm leaving here (this life that is) as soon as I wanted to leave is even possible. I must have something yet to deal with inside. If I didn't I'd be gone from this goddamned slew!

Review Request Direction: Is the internal logic consistent?

Review Request Intensity: Please use care (this is a sensitive subject for me, do not critique harshly)

Editing Stage: Editing - rough draft

Live In The Moment

Hello, John

Very inspiring words, since it's hard to live in the moment most of the time. The simile with the freight train is especially strong.

Thank you!
