Oh, January!

Oh, January!
Thy bitter cold benumbs me
My tears fall like ice

While thy darkness reigns
The sun concedes to the sea
Pale light drowns below

Oh, January!
Begone! Bate thy piercing gloom!
My heart knows no warmth

And winter, no end.

Oh, January!

Enjoyed the read. The sun concedes to the sea - excellent line. I suppose "ice" will never be quite the word it once was.

It is...

certainly, a cold and frozen landscape out there. Do we harden our hearts and run roughshod over our friends and allies? Do we, as the biggest kid on the block, become the neighborhood bully?  Haa! Anyway, I see that you have heated things up, LoL. Nicely done, Lavender.

Hello, Rula,

It's been a harsh January so far - both the weather and events in our neighborhoods.

I always appreciate your comments, My Friend.

Good Morning

Lest we not worry about the ides of March, as we have enough to concern us with the ice and cold of January.

Thank you for this chilling reminder of that which touches below the surface to reach our soul.

All my best, Will
