By Your Side

I walk with you in Gaza
I walk with you in Ukraine
I walk with you in Minneapolis

I am weary, and still I walk

Some day, I shall be but a shadow
And my footsteps but dust

And yet, I walk
So very much further to go

Dear Lady,

such a weary poem... I feel the pain and frustration you have mapped out without pointing a finger of blame. I lived my formative years in Minneapolis Mn.

Hello, Cat,

It seems the best one can do is to imagine oneself in the same shoes and walk along.

Thank you for reading!  I always appreciate your comments

We all have a walk to make back home, but where we end up depends on His heart more than ours, because of His knowing and loving arms and eyes! If you get tired of the journey just take a break, sit and reflect on the goodness that you create!

Thank you for sharing this uplifting piece. Many of us stand with folks who are being oppressed. The world seems to be lacking empathy and love, maybe us poets will need to scream for those whose voices are being silenced.

So much further to go...says it all.

The world is weary, but we must walk on supporting our fellow man.
