Angry

I used to be an angry young man
I broke most of the cell phones I had
I used to throw them against the wall
Whenever my ex would get me mad

I used to wear stylish sunglasses
Trying to look cool under the sun
But I would break them if I got enraged
Then get sad once I saw they were done

I used to drive without any patience
If others drove too slow, I’d get hot
I’d give the finger to those close by
Then my car would get scratched in the lot

I used to have a bad and short temper
Along with the side effects anger brings
Then I’d be baffled and scratching my head
Wondering why I didn’t have nice things

Needless to say, I’m not angry anymore
:-)

It's a life lesson that no matter how much we can preach to others, some may just need to live it in order to understand it.

Thank you for reading Lavender.

Thank you Rita. Over the years it has cost money but the price I paid in trying to learn patience in control has been a long journey.

Angry!

I understand you in your anger, I feel that way most of the time. The thing which I don't understand, is how you put anger out of your mind. I try to meditate, think it away, it returns again after awhile. How did you accomplish this feat! Please explain if you have time. What a great read!

It's been long hard journey. I started reading more about the stoic philosophers as I got older, learning to my control emotions and reactions, not having those emotional outbursts like I did when I was younger. I've read a lot of books, watched videos and it's still a work in progress.

In my series of Parallel Universes series, my (W)alter Ego, is the one that part expresses himself freely,  that dual personality we all wish could let loose and have our say. It's made for great poetry for me over the years, while I try to keep to composure and decorum, "he" will speak it honest and very raw.
