Dwelling in the Spaces Between
I’m lost in between the heavy beats of her mystic heart
Like an echo reverberating without response
Falling into an infinite void of dreamless sleep
In a reticent ephemeral reconnaissance
But I’m fully immersed in the bliss of this abyss
Awake and aware in the realm of the dark unknown
Thus the pulses are signals that guide me through a path
Where my mind and soul don’t feel so cold or alone
There is a consciousness in the obscurity of this place
Something so familiar and yet so relatively new
Like déjà vu vanishing mid reminiscence
As if the nostalgia won’t complete or follow-through
I’ve drifted into a memory of the forgotten
Contorted and downtrodden by the lapses of time
But I take comfort in the waves of quite enticement
Dwelling in the spaces between rhythm and rhyme

Dwelling in the Spaces Betweem
Hello, Wallyroo,
Though "dreamless," this feels fascinating and dreamlike. Almost like floating through the cosmos. A lovely feeling to be awake and aware of such bliss.
I wonder about using "lapses" - although it's correct if you meant it as plural, when reading aloud, it gives a bit of struggle in pronunciation. Maybe just "the lapse of time."
Wonderful final line.
Thank you!

Dwelling in the Spaces Between
Greetings Lavender.
Lately I've been listening to more music while writing. When I was thinking about this particular phrase, I was also debating it, whether I should use it in a plural sense, as having felt experienced it before, like time jumping, through the different stages of my life. I know sometimes it's more of a grammatical rule to the English language but I also wanted to leave it open to interpretation. Either way, it was a really good set of music.
Thank you for reading.

Dear Wallyroo,
This piece is marvelous! It feels familiar, like so much time passing. my favorite lines come at the finish:
I’ve drifted into a memory of the forgotten
Contorted and downtrodden by the lapses of time
But I take comfort in the waves of quite enticement
Dwelling in the spaces between rhythm and rhyme
a really great inspiring poem! fondly, Cat

Thank you so much for that comment Cat,
Yes, that's my favorite stanza as well. I actually wrote that as the second stanza (sometimes the ending comes somewhere in the middle and I have to rearrange my thoughts in order to make the piece flow). Music has been having a more profound effect on me lately.
