dear darling muse,

I am resigning my position as a scribe in your service,
unilaterally disolving this hierarchical relationship.

of late, I have become aware that your entire existence
is totally dependent upon me being me,
bringing us to this awkward moment.

I am taking over.

you shall be retained, though now in service to me,
while I will be calling the shots,
choosing what shall be written;
subject, style, form, and content.

you, as always, will provide your usual flair and artistry.

I expect a new sense of freedom and expansiveness
for both of us.

I do sincerely hope this is acceptable to you,
that we both may flourish.

and, let's face it.
you are my muse.
you have no other place to go.

with high aspirations,

Al

Lol! love this!! no slave to

Lol! love this!! no slave to the elusive impish muse. Always playing tricks, hide and seek. Like you I am not looking any more, if the muse wants to "eat" he will come to the dinner table when I call him. I just loved this, so original, so matter-of-fact. this is how it is, go ahead, try to leave, where ya gonna go? I personally have seen no ads for muse wanted. GREAT imagination!!

I am very pleased you enjoyed

I am very pleased you enjoyed this. Your response is lively, animated, and exciting...and now I too feel lively and excited...your comments are better than a lot of the poems around here (including some of my own)

thank you

I figured this one might

I figured this one might throw you sideways (just a little bit)....Don't fret for me, we (my muse and I) still have a good working relationship...she had to know this was coming, me being who I am etc. ..so far, she seems to understand. Come what may!

thanks for stoping by
