The World Sleeps

The world sleeps
As I keep vigil
The enemy is not without
But within

Let me hold the hands of strangers
Who fear the coming tomorrow
By helping them dream
Of a sunnier morrow
Let them dream
As I keep awake,
Let them not fear to slumber
As upon my shoulders
Their heads do rest.
Happy dreams pass by the blessed
As I can see them smile,
As they rest.

I love the idea of someone keeping vigil while i sleep.
well, it's only poetry.
i did enjoy it a bunch!
