This Ol' Rocker

Melancholy are my mood swings
concerning events from my past,

I've been thinking about past scenes
and things I thought wouldn't last.

Everything still stays with me
and, regrets do have their place;

but, I never thought I'd see
them laughing right in my face!

So, I keep on rocking
in this old chair of mine,

remembering all that has happened
sipping on life's sweet-berry wine.

I don't recall having much of a choice
with all these things I regret,

some paths I chose with my own voice
some roads I'll soon not forget.

Some thoughts are hard to swallow
back then, I didn't see "clear";

the choices my heart tried to follow
were wrong, now that time's growing near.

So, with my cane sitting next to
this ol' rocker that I love;

at least my regrets don't include you
because, you treated me with, love!

Doc

Long time since I read you and this one is me all over again too specially with the cane beside me. I like it and it is your story written in your own words, none taken from it and none given to it for it is You and Yours. Like the ending lines.

Hello to your mom and nice to read you once again Doc.
Blessings
Mona

oops forgot

the internal logic is consistent!
