BL,
is this a Haiku?
I only ask because the usual syllable count should be 5-7-5.

Hello HS
I've given up on the rules. Most people seem to think they are hard set, but the more I looked into it, the more tentative everything became. I am not trying to change the game, just prefer to write in the spirit of Haiku. I might even stop calling them Haiku to prevent this kind of confusion. The syllable count is based on transliterations of Japanese into English. This is very arbitrary, and as far as I know, there are no Haiku police!! If one goes on line to Haiku sites, there will be a vast number on interpertations on wrting in English. The only caveat I try to adhere to is: write Haiku in under 17 syllables.

That's fine mate and don't worry I won't tell the Haiku police (they do exist!) Lol!
Haiku should be exactly 17 syllables (according to the Haiku police)
I still enjoyed the poem, whether it be within the rules or not.
Short and Precise, perfect,
regards,
HS
