Right to the Heart ...

between a breathe of reason,
balanced on the edge of time
I am released from your torment
so gathers a guard of honour

straight jacket in hand I wander
back and forth, wondering why forgiveness
once a given is now resolute to change mid game
falling on all and landing on none

the men in black are back on the cusp
of darkness, rolling back the hands I breathe
must I lose a love before reverence overlays my life
now death is the beginning ? life the prologue

the few lights left have slowly lost their flame
nightwatchman, sing a street lullabye
and to the strains of a faraway Tooo Oooo
I whisper in song until the wind calls my name

I have lived until madness overtook my mind
till reason couldn’t be balanced, I breathe again
in the circle of love, compassion, moderation
and feel the mantle of peace lay her gifts on me

I felt great sadness...

even as the end seems to bring a measured amount of peace. Not sure of what I might say, other than I felt very strongly that I was reading about great loss, and resignation to it. Love and higgest bugs, ~ Gee

A very sad poem full of the doom. Can't fault it.
