Big Black Boots

Big black boots
and a fedora,
low over my eyes.
Black chinos
with black braces
over black t-shirt.
Shuck on the leather jacket,
attach the Raybans
and ready to go.

Can't miss on the eight ball,
can't miss that Miss,
beefcake backs down,
tequila slides down.

This book is its cover.

the prompt was the title,

thrown up during the Brainstorming workshop.
The connection to the last line could be expressed as "the clothes make the man" but I couldn't say that, could I, it's all un-poetical [grins]

that last line....

sharp and direct, like the poem is dressing itself.
i agree with beau here. io can't see the connection with the last line.
a workshop piece, eh? i'd like to see the steps taken to come up with this one.

I do see the last line connection.

A statement of substance. The guy is as wicked cool as what he appears. No need to open the book to find out what he is, in fact you probably don't want to open the thing. This made me smile Jess. wesley

rhyme? It's hard to convey irony in a text comment.
