Around the Corner

The map of future, folded, creased, and worn,
Lies hidden, like a secret yet unborn.
Around the corner, shadows softly creep,
Uncertainties that lull my soul to sleep,
Yet rouse it too, with whispers of the new,
A vibrant life, though tinged with shades of blue.

I've danced with death, a waltz both fierce and strange,
Three times he claimed me, on life's shifting range.
Each breath I draw, a victory hard-won,
A fragile thread, beneath the setting sun.
Perhaps it's love, a fire burning bright,
That keeps me standing, bathed in golden light.

My path's a riddle, whispered on the breeze,
A crooked arrow, through the ancient trees.
I know not where my flight will take its way,
Nor where I'll land, at close of fading day.
But this I know, with certainty so deep,
My arrow flies, while life's sweet secrets sleep,
And even in the quiet of the night,
I'll find my mark, and land in gentle light.
