Nothing Gets Lost Here

Rewriting Memory

It was the last performance of the season
In fact, it was the last one of a short career
So every note I played and every step I took
I made sure to enjoy along with my peers

I can still hear the music like an echo
I can still see their faces along with smiles
We were a tight group filled with honor and pride
We probably must’ve walked a thousand miles

But like all good things everything comes to an end
We went out to the world to experience things
And for those years I remember fondly now
My friends and I felt like we were queens and kings

We still talk, some are gone, some…nowhere to be found
But the memory of my friends is still bright and clear
It was like a second family when we were together
And for all the great times…nothing gets lost here
