safe sex

you are genuine and kind though i’m not sure where to stand
is it next to you in line or on top of you in bed?

your face- i see you smiling and my cheeks are turning red
i can’t help but push my fingers in, they slide right past your lips

i can’t escape the memories
you should know how bad i miss
the smile on your face when i told you how pretty you look like this

i can’t escape the memories of you
i want to live inside my head
if it meant i could love you and relive all those words you said

that night when you came over and you wanted me so bad
i wanted you the same way but i couldn’t say it yet

when you look at me like that with your unshaken kind intent
i will nod at you three times to give my most eager consent

the morning comes too soon- i watch as you step into your clothes
and when i kiss you in the street i almost bump into your nose

you asked me *are you feeling cold? you can borrow my good coat*
i was and so i did and it feels like coming home
