demo soldiers

Soldiers are simply shields to bear the brunt

of swords and bullets
soldiers have no right to cry,
they should only orders apply
else they would have been in a better position
If ...
Do you know?
the dullest guy reaches the highest pavilion
where angels fear to tread
soldiers love to go there
till they are stained
dead.
okay blasted too.
if that pleases the soldier in you

Pen

Damn!

My written thoughts halted,
A trusted friend abused
from night time overuse,
has run out of magic juice
to feed my passion

Ideas dangling in my head
denied in reality,
give birth to frustration.

Silence interrupted
as I paced about
trying to disentangle
my jumbled thoughts.

A lesson learnt,
never take things
for granted....

SOLDIER'S PRAYER

Might not we leave this cursed place
where all is naught but stone and sand
and utterly devoid of grace?
I've had about all I can stand.

Too tired of false comraderie
from "allies" who'd as soon slit our throat,
they have no use for you or me,
their hatred learned as if by rote.

Gave them a chance but now it's gone,
democracy is not their choice.
Brute force is what they depend on,
there's little reason in their voice.

On Being Recycled

the worms tickle as they scour my flesh
I'm getting used to it
but soon, I won't know anything at all

in the meantime, I'll be reminiscing
on the late me and my former life

I was a silly man
unaccomplished
a fool
taking all for granted

and now I am dead

would this moment feel any different
had I been a king,
or world renowned,
or even a saint?

I think not!

tickling worms will always steal the show

God?

I've never been very religious
but odd things happen at times
which make me think I'm protected.

There was an accident at seventeen,
skidding on a wet bend
rolling over and over
without a belt on,
only to crawl unscathed
from a a crumpled wreck.

Or ten years later when I overtook too late
and found myself almost crushed between two cars
with an inch to spare on either side
at a hundred and thirty kph.
and just squeezed through.

Decades decayed

No man has yet been born
to mousy me
No man has yet been born
to scare me
no man will ever be born
to destroy me
no man well,
now you may add on

about woman I won't say
lest they bury me
ALIVE,
one day...

so anonymous till my last breath
I shall for ever stay

No Nobel will ever come my way

now friends you
nor your twin digits
can have their way
side away
let me pass this way
but once

Omar Khayyam did say

D u b t a i l

thrash
the electric pace
beating out the pattern
in haste

clothes strewn
skins of chill awakening
the dark lash like a bow
bending a water
tear
and running
down the curvature
of expectancy
down the throat of
waiting

wet dark pupil
we are mirrors of hunger
lavish egos
lost

like ghosts on passing buses
a smile
curving in the dark dimples
rushing off
rushing near

Backward has taken control

I woke up early this morning
rather disoriented
Wondering what day is it, Saturday or Sunday?

I sat on the couch wandering around in my mind
I simply wanted to find an answer to my question
Lost in a daze I lost my way, sanity.

The path was unclear
Then out of no where
An answer to my question appeared.

Check your iPhone your iPad
There you will find the answer to your question
I searched around the room
There it is, my iPhone in its bright pink case.

The Season

AAH! The dreaded season has arrived!
Goal!! One word sums it all
kiss goodbye to your peaceful nights
its the reign of football!

When dawn greets the day
I'll be dragging myself from the bed
it'll be the same panda eyes everyday
with a string of curses in the head
before the night returns with a vengeance
ruled by fans brimming with excitement
who never fail to break the silence
and send my sleep to early retirement!

It Flowered Briefly Once

It Flowered Briefly Once….

Flower power people nearly done it,
with bare feet and a catchy song.
Around that time Sandy had won it,
those gentle folk with their flowers
had a message so very strong.

They believed we could reach the top
take sharp quills to write all wrongs,
but our foes were so deeply entrenched,
their history written in bloody songs.

They're thinking was to stop all wars,
give power to honest decent men.
End our crazy need or greed of money,
help the poorest peoples countries again.
