Angel

I see you there glowing,

like an angel in a darkened sky,

gentle as I ever seen.

I bow my head before your eyes.

But alas, you are sleeping,

And your eyes are closed.

It’s just a figment of my imagination,

you were there you really were.

I see no sense in what you are.

To me you are the most wonderful creature,

and maybe you truly are an angel,

sent from God to guide me.

My Mama

You are that beautiful flower,
I'll never get to smell again.

Black,strong and proud

Not everyone's favourite

And you liked it like that

You liked having only a small number,
Understand your impact.

I got it.

But,I also got hooked

On your essence

And your Aura
And now,that you are gone

All I do is cry.
All I do is look at photos of you, and
Try remember your scent.

It haunts me.

Depression

There's always a clock on the wall.
Counting down the depression that I'm feeling. The luxury of happiness, fill me without a meaning.
The burden of sadness, makes my life not worth living.
Even as I try to love myself, I struggle to find a reason.
Why can't I just get my mind, to have a sense of being. I'm alive with a porpoise, but depression is all that I'm seeing

Overdraft

Overdraft is a bad habit
like an addiction to alcohol
that cause toxic waste
with all the excessive
spending to give away
with a loss of mind
a sense of guilt
feeling a shared burden
to go broke overnight
shocking news comes
in tears of flow and
heart of attack
with a warning sign
a lesson not to forget
never to be careless
to always stay on track
for financial advice

A Beautiful Day

It was a day
When thin delicate
Butterflies
Dared to fly

And trees could
Worship the sun
And leaves could
whisper the wind

And currents could move
In a profusion of ways:
Wind, light, and water
Playing their rapture

It was a day
When high soaring gulls
Could silently slice sky

I know nothing of love

I know nothing now
and I knew nothing then
about love and relationships
how they begin, how they end
far be it from me
to start over again
in all of it's agony
love is a trend
a thing briefly passing
just like the wind
your lovers will lie to you
on your knee you will bend
inevitably it comes
to an inglorious end!

Misstep

You were a very good friend,
and we should have stayed that way.
But the more we tried for more it wasn’t good.

In the end, I could never decide
if it was the awkwardly lovely way of protesting
with your whole body when I teased you,
or your kindness I missed the most.

TO WALK BENEATH ASPENS

I always thought I'd go out west
during the early weeks of fall
and roam Rocky Mountains in a quest
for antelope, mule deer, elk and all.

But I must wait 'till school is done
my priorities were clear and set.
There's no hunting under summer's sun.
My time to go was not here yet.

And still I dreamed of aspen's gold
but there was work that must be done
building a business, truth be told
along with marriage and first son.

A season of peace!

Blue Skies,
From here to the horizon,
On a day like today.

The sun on the frost glistens,
A time to observe and a time to listen.

Mother Nature calls out for an eager ear,
“What can I do today to help you see
The changing tides of lyrical Harmony?”

The sky in the trees is full of sound,
And once our awareness comes to fruition,
We see how nature displays creation,
All in the light of a beautiful day,
Pointing us forward in the direction of
peace,
Something that all of us can easily receive.
