Among The Wren and Blissful Daffodil

Among the wren and blissful daffodil,
lavish crimson clover adorns this hill,
'round the elms, the oaks, and sweet maple trees,
to satisfy the busy honey bees

who come to work with need and keen goodwill
among the wren and blissful daffodil,
while lulling perfume gratifies the air
above this hillside, freely dancing there.

Now, on my walk, I pause to feel the sun
console my bones when daily work is done.
Among the wren and blissful daffodil
cicadas wane, and weary bees lie still.

This Isn't a Love Story

Gradual, our friendship
Just a few words here and there,
To full conversations about
Life and love and everything in between

We became the best of friends
Laughing and teasing each other in the halls
“Accidentally” brushing shoulders
Making excuses to be physical in any way

Looks turned into stares,
Nudges turned into us leaning on each other,
Without either of us noticing,
We fell for each other, hard and fast.

Please Michelle Obama...

can you save American democracy?

I highly hugely grant
Barack Hussein belated kudos
what with his wizardesses
in tow wrought wonders
to one nation analogous
while an under dog
sweeping in like...
It's a Bird... It's a Plane...
It's NOT Superman
but the Beagle Snoopy
imitating the Red Baron
saving the day.

Tell Me About The Moon

“Tell me about the moon.” It was a cool spring night in late April and my head was on your chest. We weren’t together, but it was inevitable that we would be. I snuggled closer to you as I began to explain my love for the moon. You smelled the same as you always had. I still can’t describe the smell, but it was always yours.

An Old Photo of My Parents

I can look at their black and white photo
whenever I want, to take in where they’ve been.
The old wood frame somewhat worn
from years of repeating the memories.

The image within, from long ago, is a little blurred.
But that’s not why I couldn’t understand
where the love, captured in time, might have gone.

LOST COMPANION

We've walked wild blossom filled meadows,
Bees hummed in verdant grass,
Birds sang in leaf clad hedgerows,
Rabbits fled as we strolled past.

We've walked through winter woodlands
Snow deep upon the path;
Geese took their flight before us
By ponds like crystal glass.

Winter's dawn or Summer's sunset
Together we have been
Inseparable companions
Linked by a common gene.

I remember like it was yesterday

I remember the day we met like it was just yesterday
Your handsome demeanour and gorgeous eyes
Drawing me to you, I didn't even know why
Your luscious blonde hair, I've always loved
Even when those emo bangs testify

I remember the first time you kissed me like it was last night
All our special moments March through July
Holding on to each memory, not letting pass by
With you I feel safe, comforted and blessed
Oh, how you hold me tight, every time I cry

A Ghostly Voyage

Skies of slate, fog seeping in,
wrapping around lonley branches in veils of sadness.
An owl's screech heard in the distance.
Followed by a gentle beat, a break in the madness.

Barefoot and alone, stepping silently
through my wooded prison,
following the notes as they echoed,
caressing the new found freedom that has risen.

The ship stood waiting, a site to behold.
Black flag beckoning in the breeze, calling me home.
The sea rocked in rhythm as the sound grew louder,
when suddenly he appeared; my heart did shudder.

A meditation

He moves in placid silence.
lotus blossoms bloom
beneath his holy feet
the Buddah walks alone
down an ancient city street
the plight of man is deafening
the cries of man repeat
He walks in quiet dignity to search infinity
and sometimes in the evening
He slips into a trance
meditating on the chakra
to find a missing key
and bring relief from suffering
to all humanity

The End of the World

The End of the World
Written by Kelly Ann Wilson

You can try to comfort me
With how the moon prevails and pulls the tides

The wheat still turns golden brown
From the sun which still shines

And maybe it’s true the rivers run on
Between the ever-growing pines

You can say it’s not the end of the world
Oh, but it is the end of mine
