Remember How We Met

I remember the day so well
It was the start of our story to tell
We were both so shy and so scared
Neither of us had a clue how to be prepared

We met at a dance one happy day
We were scared, but we both had to stay
We talked and laughed and shared our hearts
It was then our journey did start

We talked for hours and we never ran out
About our hopes and our doubts
We shared our secrets and our fears
And wiped away each other's tears

Freewill

There’s a place called home
That I’ve never known
Because I’ve never lived inside myself
I hold all the blame for this
I wear it like so many trinkets and medals
As if like Odysseus,
I’m some wayward hero
Fated by forces malevolent
Victimized by my own cruel perception
Starved for the love I can’t hold for myself
What alignment of stars
Or deified wrath
Could make such circumstance?
It occurs to me
I have been depressed by the gravity
Of my own crippling freewill

Rhymes with Orange

he sat on a gold coloured shitter
not "X"ing on "Formerly Twitter"
and perplexed, we expect
that a "tweet" is an "X"
sadly vexed with the hex of a quitter!

(next turn...)

his face never graced "TwitterX"
'til his pride became rifled with wrecks
now the platform's O.K.
for his legal dismay
as he brays for your credit or cheques!

Alien Nation???

As all peoples fight each other in their alienation,
And a primed invasion lies awaiting authorisation,
As hostile warriors undergo deathly indoctrination,
To then invade and crush every planet and nation.

An interstellar empire of wrath, destruction and void,
All tactics and means to execute their plan they employ,
And with a brutal heart of conquest and a will to destroy,
Their success will render our civilizations as their toys.

Her Majesty of the Purple Mountains

<p>O' dutiful... the racist lies .....
For dapper knaves at play
America... America - Lady Liberty of mass mediocracy
God shed his grace on thee but look at what you've become
See what you have done
How are we to crown good when a brotherhood would send you to grave?
A burial may be better than the bed you're in today.
Politicians turned to pimps -Campaigns running as you limp.
Elected pricks prepared strip constitutional rights- judicial processes eschewed

Hidden Heart...

It's been so long since I've seen it
I almost didn't recognize
the visage of your hidden heart
lying there amongst the lies

I spied upon your emotions
I saw them through the boma
Through the castle keep, I did creep
as you dealt with the drama

Unaware of my spying eye
as you let your guard go down
Soon I fled, filled with dread
lest you fix me with a frown

For it is a forbidden place
no trespass is allowed
I lose myself in the shadows
back amongst the crowd

Serious sibling subluxation...

rapprochement somewhat salvaged dislocation

Truth be told about following poem
mostly written quite some years ago,
and revisions made to recreate
and revise a more satisfactory literary product.

This trademark ungainly, unsightly,
and unwieldy title essentially
huzzah mask queer aid,
(my humble apology NOT
to incite unwanted
and unwonted anger
among lgbtqia community),
and accentuates tendency
(mine) to administer
reverent unpretentious yawping,
sans (asper thy usual)

When I Win The Lottery

I would take time to pray
To thank God for the blessed day

I will have money to spare
Extra dollars for me to share

I would look at my family’s bills
And offer relief and thrills

I will give to my loving wife
A more peaceful and happy life

I will develop a family trust
Because I know that’s a must

I will travel to a different place each week
Making my life really unique

I will give to those in need
Living up to my professed creed

Affirmation

I claim it as our right to know a true lasting peace,
Powers know I wish wars end and conflict cease,
And human beings not live begging on their knees,
So grant my affirmation of hope I so desire please.

Unite the human nations under a banner of love,
Aspiring to colonise planets in the heavens above,
Inspiring creeds of higher nature pure and good,
Awakening the ancient knowledge in our blood.
