The sun has set
The stars unseen
The snow is now falling
You said
You would come

The heavens silently
Drain their load
Softly soft music I load
Awaiting
You said you’d come.

The stars will not be seen
For another week
The snow shall not cease,
The chilly winds will continue to blow
Awaiting you
I still remember you say,
You’d surely come
Come what may
I cant’ wait any longer
Send some one to my door
And tell me where I can meet you,
Just once more,
You said you surely would come
But when!

Hello Loved

Waiting for someone or something to arrive! That feeling of expectation - seems such a longgg longg time.
But then when it/he/she comes it makes it that much more special.

The heavens silently
Drain their load
Softly soft music I load
Awaiting
You said you’d come.

I like this stanza - Gives the impression of peacefully waiting in melancholy.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

It almost felt like I was reading my poem, "Autumn Wish" but from the heart of another also in wait. I truly love this write for its truth and desperation of when we have to wait, like a child, "are we there yet"
thanks for sharing your heart with us, Lovelyhoney!
Always Eddie

I SHALL READ YOUR autumn wish if i have read it and forgotten

I shall read your autumn wish,
If i have read it and forgotten
I shall read it again

This poem was written
Last evening
As kids awaited
Some dear one
And i composed
This poem for them
As if they'd had so done

Thanks for the words
Of nectar
So profusely strewn my way
I shall come across you
Hopefully some day

"send someone to my door" ..

"send someone to my door" ...a perfect line at the perfect time....

I never like to make comparrisons, but, this reminded me ( in mood and tone) of Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot"... This, I hope you take as high praise, for that is my intention.

I Thank You Sir

I thank you sir
For your elation,
A pop
Great one that you are,
I have only a small desire,
One to become a star
Of a song of music
Composed by you
Do you think?
This dream of mine
Can ever come true

Yes I was waiting
For some one
Very near,
But i did not fear,
Twas that the one
Would come
As the one did
Oh yes my dear.

A poem for you can you musify it

You are music to my ears
I was always a bathroom singer,
A good one at that,
Till one day i sang,
A bit louder
My bathroom door opened
And my spouse did slap
Don’t holler
The dogs asleep
You’ll wake the poor guy
Then you will weep,
As you will have to go out
In the snow
I can’t walk
That you know.

Thence i abandoned singing
But once in a way,
When my spouse is away
When the door bell does ring
I d try to sing
Again
Out of sheer thrill
Not pain,
To my dear spouses
