Who? (The Other Me)

Someone waits in Timelessness
dreaming The Path for me;
guiding me through the school of manifest
and the bedrock of eternity.

Someone is Being in authentic divinity.
I’m costumed in my stardust machine.
Together we dance in our own special feature
brought through to life through our own unique dream.

Who is dreaming the dream I am walking
in the ageless I of consciousness?
Who is directing the strokes of the brush
Which, little by little, paints my eternalness?

Once re-united with self-knowledge I lack,
all experience at my fingertips to take,
I’ll hear and see what wonders, I wonder,
when both the dreamed and the dreamer awake.

About the Author

Favorite Poets: Favourite poets? So many, so varied. I like particular songs, not necessarily the singer... and the same goes for poetry. I can honestly say though, that Alfred Noyes' The Highwayman was what inspired my love of poetry - my mother began reading it to me when I was still a baby, and it became my favourite bedtime story

...dreaming in your daytime

I find I know the source of this thought-travel
into the known unknown;
and with it you intrigue the people who know not the unknown
as you do,
dreaming in your daytime
awake to write this piece of magic
to entertain our minds.

Dear judyanne so glad to see your poetry again,
love from me, annanya.

as for my meaning - i think you sort of have it....i'm talking about my higher self and me....

conscience is like a

conscience is like a bedfellow
never leaves us alone for a while
each unseen act or even a thought
never escapes his might...

i enjoyed the write and the theme...

lol
dependent on what you mean by a flair for drama.....
i couldn't be a prima donna if i tried i'm afraid
my yin and yang is not balanced
much too much of the observer
much too little of the participant...

thanks for the great comment

Hi Judy,

It's good to see new writing from you.
This is very good, until the last stanza, where the cadence breaks down, for me. Particularly the 2nd line, where the cadence simply doesn't fit, imo. Up until then the flow is excellent, and the meaning and implications profound. I think you should re-work the last stanza, to fit the rest of the poem in pace and flow.

Establishing...

contact with our higher selves, as you say, should be everyone's goal. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. I found this extremely interesting, and thought provoking. Nice to see a new write from you. ~ Gee

Dearest Judy, my favourite

Dearest Judy, my favourite lines are

Once re-united with self-knowledge I lack,
all experience at my fingertips to take,
I’ll hear and see what wonders, I wonder,
when both the dreamed and the dreamer awake.

These lines mean a lot to me...thanks a lot.

Judy...

wow, so many have commented already and I must agree, it is thought provoking and deep.
my favorite line:
I’m costumed in my stardust machine.
you have no idea how many images this evokes, this line is a true inspiration, a statement, a vision...
I simply adore the rhythm of the last two lines, the occasional staccato woven into a soft melody. beautiful and enticing.
