red

it holds a soft spot
on one side.

I wonder if
that is when

it slipped from
someone's hand,

or fell from its tree.
imperfect, it is,

yet, still so sweet.

After living...

for more than seventy-five years, I am not surprised to find that often times, there is a certain sweetness to some of those with life's biggest scars and carry sweet spots with a certain grace to them. Truer words were never spoken.  ~ Geez.

Oft times, it is the sum of the scars and bruises that so endears people to us. A nice way to remind us of that.
