hungry, I went on the lookout
in the neighborhood
for a barbecue cookout
 
finding none,
I went looking elsewhere
for another one
 
that was not there,
which was not good

You are very versatile

Are you sure you are not a famous poet trying stuff out on us pretending to be a newy? Not that I thought this was great. Have been starving poor and crashed parties for food, and hung out at out-door restaurants looking hungrily at people waiting for their left-overs thats what I relate to in this poem. It spoke to me, maybe not to others.
