I waited hard

I stood firm ashore
by the inland sea …
awaiting sign or word,
I had hoped,
of your love for me.
I waited long, I waited hard—
but for naught.
’Twould seem your plighted
fondness suffers
from dry rot.
Aft this longsome lingering,
finally I am free …
to fall in love
with someone else,
evidently.

to quote from John Lennons poem

"I Sat Belonely Down A Tree" (which I might post one day, I just know you would love it) "Such lovely singing lulled me sleep an hour or two or so" I am not saying it sent me to sleep! I'm saying your light lyricism lulls my heart open to get twanged quite loudly! Splendid cheers, Jess
