willing bard

in the greenness

of my yard,

I found a willing bard

to sing a myth, a tale

of nightingale,

a thing for him not hard.

after all, he was

a willing bard.

prosaic, i know

we have no real singing birds in aussie, have heard their delights in NZ and Europe. We have the delightful bell of the bellbird and anything (including chain saw sound) mimicry from the lyre bird, but no real singers. alas cheers, Jess
