Paper Mag

Magnolia, nicknamed Mag,

Now stroked her gypsy shag.

She’d thought she’d had her

Groceries in a paper bag.

In her dismay,

Her face grew hot.

She feared the tongues would wag,

Feared her mind had gone to pot.

Someone at the grocer’s store …

Had stowed them, seemingly,

In vinyl plastic sack!

And sadly, what is more,

Like some too heedless hack,

It’s true poor Mag in error

Did throw out the grocery lot.

could well do the same

I turn up proud (hopefully not too loud) with my expandable, unzippable, constantly recyclable, green shopping bag cheers, Jess
