the sausage and the maid

those who love [the] sausage

and the law

should never watch [the] either [as

they’re] being made.

 

and those as well who fancy

uncooked fish

and prancing round about

stark-naked raw …

 

should mind god-awful

added manner over

stringent, well-prepped dated

dinner dish

 

while supping broadcast

orange marmalade

on whole-wheat toast afore

the wearied maid.

Oh Man

When I was reading your poem I was reminded of when Susan Warnick a news anchor went to jail for withholding her source. After she was freed she was doing a show about food preperation. A male chef and her made sausage. When he told her to put it in the skin and she tried to do it she started laughing the kind of laugh she didn't want people to know what she was laughing at and it turned into the most hilarious situation I swear I will never forget it, I laughed into tears. This poem may not be funny but it is where your quote brought me. Thanks, Mark
