Connie Jeanine

The sky casts it’s shadow

on my sweet butterfly,

a shadow of light-

for the tree blocks the sky;

her gaze pierces through

the eyes in my head,

and Connie Jeanine

reacts to something, once said.

Maybe a thought

she never thought through,

or a realization

that started to brew;

could be she remembers

a face from a night,

or maybe it’s nothing

removing life from her sight;

no matter-this moment

that’s caught in this frame,

shows a butterfly’s beauty

and hers, are the same.

Lovely

A lovely title for a lovely poem. I thought the language use was nice, but in the last stanza I believe showa should be shows. The words flowed nicely across the page at a perfect pace. It appealed to me in the sense that you know and appreciate beauty inside and out. I liked the way you stared off and loved the way you ended, the poem was not all over the place it was a very good read! Thanks so much for sharing ! Keep writing! Have a good one! Brittany Rae
