No... It Was Me

there had to be one person along the way, someone to take the slack

that was Robert Madison flak would find him if he hid behind a mountain

chances where better then good if something went wrong or got misunderstood

it was because Robert  was  part of the formula like a drop of gas in kool-aid

with a careless match nearby

then there is the person that dares others along ,someone to up the risk

that was me always ready to impress others and show hidden temptations

the odds where better then good if I had material and a mission things happened

that is how the chemicals get mixed to create a thrill like fire shot fifty feet

with a tool shed to close

but that is not the story that was told at the time.Because Robert had my back

that was something I can never forget when the cops showed up at his house

like a skilled gambler he bluffed and his record for Oops  adopted charges of arson

without a doubt they excepted his story "we told you "his parents said over and over

all I wanted to say was....

neat wordplay with meaning

this gave me deja vu; i recalled for a moment seeing a special on Jonestown sometime during my mid-adolescence. "it was because Robert was part of the formula like a drop of gas in kool-aid/with a careless match nearby". two wonderful lines! the whole poem streams down to a conclusion childlike in it's innocence. interesting work.
