Silent Eulogy
Angel wings move the clouds
over the fields in which I used to laugh and play
but today stand in
motionless
listening to soft words but not hearing them
thinking
with perfect clarity
about past and simple joys,
times when you were present—
scolding, laughing, sharing, loving—
and the impossibility of today’s reality,
when all I have
are the fast-moving clouds
the fields of youth
and my memories,
the places where you are kept.
