Prince of Light

Your charming ways
intrigued me.
I was curious
to learn.
You took me
to another place,
and showed  me 
the Palace of Light.
You swept me away
with your heart
and your soul.
I love your passion,
your sensuality,
your wit,
and your letters -
o' your letters!
Your intellect
inspires me
as a muse
does the poet.
Your words
like feathers
floating in the wind,
dance
to the sound of your voice.
And yet,our dance
has been cut short
by forces
beyond our control
But as short
and sweet
as it was,
It is imprinted
on my soul.
For all time
I will remember
the Prince
I couldn't have.
