The Gift

Life is a precious gift,
it never fades away.
We grasp at it with every breath
and live it every day.
The air we breathe, fill our lungs
our friends feed our soul.
Each step we take, each decision we make
will strive to make our lives whole.
Take the time to sit in the sunshine,
feel the rain upon your face.
Smile at strangers who pass you by,
don't start each day at top pace.
Look at the wonders around you,
Be grateful for what you are given
take every day as it comes,
For THE GIFT OF LIFE......IS LIVING!!!

An Aussie! Welcome, too few of us here.

Now I would love to tell you that this is the greatest peom ever posted on the site, should go straight to Spotlight and be engraved in virtual gold. But sorry, I wouldn't be doing you a favour. The ideas are excellent but cliched. Don't take that as an offensive word- cliches become cliches because they are important things to be said. It is important for you that you wrote it. It's not so important to many of us to read it. You have excellent wordrafstmanship and I would love to see more of your work tackling a more challenging subject, cheers, Jess

thanks

Mel Inwood Thankyou for the comment Jess, I get what ure saying...I'm beginning to realise that everyone is writing about the same things, just in their own words! So yeah I guess in that It DOES become a cliche. It's all good, it's just like a slap in the face reality check when you put it like that ...."It is important for you that you wrote it. It’s not so important to many of us to read it" ouch, but taken well hehehe. I will take you up on that challenge tho, thanks..... Mel
