You're like a drug
I can't stay away
You have me hooked
I want you all day
All evening
All night
You're all I think about
I'm addicted to you
If I can't have you
I shout
I scream
And I cry
For just one more taste
Of your beautiful poison
Not a drop to waste
The feelings you breed
I'm addicted to you
So mellow
So calm
I see lights of blue
Hallucinations
Before my eyes
Manipulations,
Your voice devised
So high
So addicted
So blinded by you
I'm hooked
I'm an addict
I'm so in love with you.

Quite Disturbing

beautiful Lacy, and such a pleasured acceptance of your addiction. I like how you have used the repetitions of I'm and So at the beginnings of the lines to enhance the repetitive sense of the addiction. Your addicted Prof PS "Menestrations"? perhaps "Fenestrations"?

I had it fixed ,a little tipsy posting and couldnt think of the word i wanted,forgive the mistake,my dear professor,and never stop teaching me. Teachers pet, Lacy Where power corrupts,poetry cleanses.

This came out excellent, I think. It reminded me of the Nick Drake song "Place To Be" - mainly the line "Now I'm weaker than the palest blue. Oh, so weak in this need for you." Really liked your line about needing another taste of poison. all evening all night, arent they the same thing? lol poem was a little too typical for me to be honest...ive read hundreds just like it. fragile things: take flight!

It was well worth a second Look

Thanks everyone.

this was just a moment in time i had to capture ,no editing or thinking involved just a rolling stream that poured from my pen, and no i beleive evening and night are separated, early evening when the sun has just gone down and then night the hours you are usually sleeping.I like it fine for it is a memory for me and its fine if not many like it ,it is not why i wrote it,thanx again for reading and taking the time to read everyone,appreciated greatly Lacy, Where power corrupts,poetry cleanses.
