Daddy, please don't go..

He promised us happiness
He promised us faith
He promised us everything
And took it all away

Daddy, please don't leave
Daddy, please don't go away
I promise, Daddy, Mamma won't cry today
Daddy, please stay

Can you tell me you didn't lie
She was your queen
And sister was your princess
Tell me you told me the truth

Daddy, please listen
This is me crying out for you
Daddy, please talk to me
Tell me I'm dreaming

Daddy, please don't leave
Daddy, please don't go away
I promise, Daddy, Mama won't cry today
Daddy, please stay

You lied to me
How dare you take away my hope
And shatter our dreams
Listen to your heart
Am I...
Am I in it
Am I in your heart

Daddy, please don't leave
Daddy, please don't go away
I promise, Daddy, Mommy won't cry today
Daddy, please stay
Please stay...

Please don't fade away...

Heartbreaking

story... I hear a little girl pleading for her Daddy to stay. I hope this is fiction. Very powerful. Thanks for sharing. Tom

Unfortunately..

This is not fiction, what I write is always based on something real. Yes, it is a little child pleading for her father to stay, trying to keep him from passing away. I thank tee quite kindly for reading this poem. S.

Very strong...

Heartfelt as well...As a child, I think, we think, begging, pleading will stop or change the outcome of something, and yet, as a child, we have to learn such a grown up part of life... Your words brought emotions... Sweetness...

Indeed...

As children, we dream to have everything perfect, along with such a family that it makes the whole world feel soo magical..yet when we get older we come to realize, there are no such things as perfect, only reality and what lies within that itself. I bring only the truth to what I write. I do thank thee for reading. -S.

Hey kid

I remember when you moved to Majorca, I remember the phone call that told me of your fathers passing away. I was devestated. Not for myself, but for you, your sister and of course your mother. I am sad to read this piece, I am however proud that you had the courage to post it. It takes a lot to post our inner feelings for all to read and comment on. I am so glad that I have another poet in the family. Love you. David Shawn

Very sad.

It hurts to lose someone close to you and very easy to get angry at the person for your feelings of abandonment. But it's a very well written poem. I know the poem I write to my father didn't turn out nearly this well. Poetry is a beautiful thing that let's you express so much. I'm so sorry you've had to experience this. I sincerely hope you've moved passed it and wish you the best. Shadow
