the perfect poem

Sometimes you see a poemThat truly takes yourBreathVoiceHeartAwaySometimesYou can’t wait to see a poem that is similarBut can’t be too the sameBecause when you read duplicatesYou don’t have the ecstasyOf that first poem Sometimes its only once you feel thisBut you never forgetSometimes its by a famous authorSometimes from a loved oneAnd even sometimes you are just looking through manyAnd one caches your eyeAnd that is always in your heartBut we appreciate it only
sometimes

Hi Tessadiana,

The theme of your poem seems to coincide with a belief which I have held for many years, which is that a minority of poems really get to us in a way that prose cannot do. Personally, I usually only find a few such poems in any book of poetry I read, and sometimes none at all, but they are worth searching for. Best wishes, Robert.
