The Sound of Silence

Listen to this sound profound

This melody par excellence

From the time unbound

And farther more limit of existence

Inspiring you to explore

The boundless span of vision

The valleys that my searching soul lure

To fly on the wings of reason

Let thoughts travel freely

To the worlds unknown

And your craving eyes see

Beyond the sun and moon

The world where the life

Does not wear the shroud

And free of all strife

With lasting bliss endowed

Where the colour of spring

Isn’t pale with autumn’s fear

And on the boughs nightingale sing

The eulogy of roses far and near

On a solitary night

In the darkness dense

Let your thoughts Ignite

And listen to the sound of silence

Thanks for your thoughtful comments. I accept my poems are interspersed with Eastern Values and Eastern Philosophy. Among the Sufi poets and philosophers Confucius, Iqbal, Ghalib, Rumi, Bedil, Latif Bhitai and Tagore have made indelible impressions on my thoughts which are reflected in my poems. My thoughts go beyond the barriers of religion, colour, caste and creed. I believe in universal love. Thanks for your appreciation. -Mohammad Shoreedgi kay hath say hay sar wabal-e-dosh Sehra mein aiy Khuda koi deewar bhi naheen (Heavy it is on my shoulders, O Lord! I wish I had the educational background that your have. I chose Science, but it does not inspire a lot of poetry for me. I picture a longing for Heaven in this writing. Free of all strife and lasting bliss. I have heard it said that Heaven smells of roses.

You are too modest and have a beautiful soul. The reading of Science subjects could not take away the glitter of your heart of gold. You are a poet at heart. When you put the paint brush of your pen on the paper it draws the image of your heart. Charming words beg you to be used and that is your poetry. How many enjoy these qualities. Day by day the shine of your poems are growing. What else one would want. I am sorry I have seen your comments only today. Hence this delayed reply. You seem not to have read some of my poems posted lately.Best wishes. -Mohammad
