to match moonman's hilarious comment above (and i would say the same of myself) you've outdone yourself with respect to the amount of meaning you can pack into a few words, a sentence even--you remind me of george oppen, that master of minitiuarist magic. great job GB

Never heard of him. But now that you mention it, I googled the name ... and discovered tales of a man whose life and times were rich (literally/figuratively) with an astonishing mix. Actually, anyone who drew the then (1950s) attentions of the HUAC and/or the then attentions of the under-Hoover FBI's apt to draw my present attentions. Thanx for the mention.
