Speaking of things you don’t want to hear.

I wish it were Halloween

What a marvelous assymmetry:

A magical moment of dark absurdity,

No ghosts that haunt your memory.

No spirits of that kind,

Just bubble gum for the mind.

Oh super, just chewing gum super stuff

Now the clowns of bonny Italy have come out to dance, the masks of make-believe to prance. Italy has so many such masks, those of Venice we all know about, but there are many many more and with the Italian sense of humour, they are given both Chewing gum absurdity and pathos in drama. After all "Romeo and Juliet" was set in Verona and Shakespeare used the mask in like manner, with absurd comic and tragic results. An underlying sadness at having missed out on the fun lies in this too and that is a more disturbing element, we are glad you can laugh Longo. Tragi-comedy in the theatre of life. Annuccia
