Running Away

Ive been sitting on my bed for the last 2 days

wondering how we are going to get through this

Even though you say it's ok...

I have this sinking feeling inside that it's not

Coz it's not ok that you left me

at 2 oclock in the morning

And it's not ok that I was crying

because you weren't strong enough to stay

and it's not ok for you to be selfish

when I need you more than words can say

You should have been there

you should have shown me that you care

instead of running away.

Hi Mel...

I can't remember the last time you posted, it seems like it has been a while... good to see you... your poem did deliver the sadness you were feeling and the anger at their leaving... but, I felt to engage the reader, it may need something more... not sure what, just felt something was missing... or, perhaps that means it needs nothing else, it made me want to know... hmmmm, always more than one way to look at things... anyway, good to see you here... Richard

Yeah it has been a while since I posted anything...almost a year actually. I haven't been writing much, and strangely enough I think It's because I have found a great guy and have nothing to write about. All my poems seem to be about unhappy relationships etc...I have written a few at home but not on here, only a matter of time before I get them out there again. Kinda lost touch with that part of me...but it will always be there. You're right about the poem..it was just straight out of my head, didn't think about it much really, just felt it and put it on paper. Good to hear from you, and hopefully I'll share some more soon Mel
