STARLIGHT

STARLIGHT I want to sleep in deep nightWrapped in the warmth of starlight.I want the earth to cover meWhen my soul is set freeLeave my body in peace behind.I don’t want to feel the pain of lossOrThe suffering that Memory brings.I want to cross to another sideAnd seeThe others waiting  there for me.I want to dream of  Heaven's bliss.Know a new beginning exists. If annihilation is my endThenLet me sleep my eternal nightWrapped in the warmth of starlightMy mind and body peacefullyNo soul to set free.

Oh sleep in starlight

What a lovely romantic thought to lull your senses to a sleep that dazzles and expires like the light of stars, those twinkling bodies that are light years away, their light comes from those memories of yours and further even further than further back in time, the time we give the earth and even before that, they of all things must be able to answer your prayers, soothe your soul, grab your spirit and show you how to speed across the aeons to far distant ages where your poems can regale the spectres of the past. Dream on dream on and find your new beginning anon. I'm just waffling as here you write such a beautiful poem, the stars shining through your sadness and giving yourself hope, a hope of something we know not of, yet we can dream and you can wrap the dark night around you like a flying cloak of magic to land in some pleasant country among those stars of light we love so much in the heavens. Lovely, so lovely Longobardolino mio, from your Annuccia with love.

Ah! This

is a sweet thought, with the feel of longing and a hope for the unknown; and it much reminds me of Socrates Apology: "either death is a state of nothingness and utter unconsciousness, or, as men say, there is a change and migration of the soul from this world to another. Now if you suppose that there is no consciousness, but a sleep like the sleep of him who is undisturbed even by the sight of dreams, death will be an unspeakable gain" be well ken

Dear Longo

This is written so beautifully, it is written with style and I enjoyed every word, i love the last stanza. Just brilliant. Best wishes sent upon a star, And may its shining light, Reach and warm you from afar, On each and every night. Love from Lyz. XX
