The Cable Guy
He arrives in khaki shorts
and a mesh muscle-shirt.
Emma’s eyes are aging,
still, she notes
the Byzantine
calligraphy
on his burly neck,
his beefy arms and calves.
She contemplates –
A woman of a certain age
should never ask,
would never be allowed
to admire the entire
work of art.
