Nightmare

In a dream
I saw you.
Watching,
waiting,
but for what?.

My fantasies
on show,
my memories
now shared
with you,
but who are you?

My dream is
a private retreat
from reality,
and an escape
from the daily
grinds in life.

I do know you,
I feel you beside me,
you are my
nightmare.
Are you not?

As his grip tightens
around my wrist,
in a silent fear,
he  leads me
to where  the
wild things grow.

Nightmare...

Wild things grow beside us all, we just never pay attention until they tap us on the shoulder, or something or someone points them out. We live with dreams both good and bad, and we cannot pick and choose which ones come true. Only God and the fates have that power. If I could choose for you, you would never have another nightmare. Dear Lyz

Do you dream in color? (I do) Could this nightmare just be a fear of the unknown making its presence known to your psyche? My favorite lines are: As his grip tightens around my wrist, in a silent fear, he leads me to where the wild things grow. I especially love the last line. Love, Cat

Oh where do they lead you Lyz, those wilds what do they conjure up for you? This s a really lived mare of the night, shiver, I do not have many nightmares and nearly always manage to step out of danger unscathed so I must be privileged. Well put this dear Lyz from Ann

Hiyah dear one

Beautiful three times over is this pic. She actually reminds me of someone. Thank you, I think Cat may have sort of hit the nail on the head with this one. I think my mind and body are shutting down lately. I will be my stupid self soon though. I am making that a priority. Now it is you who needs to take care my dear. Lyz the unicorn still stand defiantly...

Hi Lyz, I hope you are ok! To me this dream/nightmare is haunting you... in the effect that it is something your past that your regret or ashamed off that you worry will resurface again. I could be completely wrong but you seem to lay yourself bare here and go back in time waiting for the event to greet you and take you beyond. The word themselves Lyz are fantastic and roll along at a exciting pace and builds to a great crescendo and delivers with a faint chill the last line which cuts deeply and imprints the poem on your memory and heart. Powerful and beckoning at the same time. Excellently written my friend... I hope these dreams subside in course and their pattern revealed to you with no ill will. Have a great christmas and best wishes for the new year. May much joy befall you in 2010! :) Dale :)

dear Elizabeth, I just read one of yours and I am always in awe. You my dear ARE a talent, and mate, you could go far. I have missed you and your writes, but I also have been busy for a while as well, cant blame it all on you, lol.
