Through His Grace Eternity Had Passed Him By
They say his trials reveal his glory
Through his wrath and mercy he shares his love
In an instance just one man's story
Can show the power of the man above
Since life had made him soft and brittle
All that remained was his faith everlasting
But though he gripped tightly to something so little
Trust in his king would keep his heart casting
For consecutive days he sat in deep thought
While at the edge of a pier he watched the sky
Little did he know it was this same spot
Through his grace eternity had passed him by
Although a faithful servant his morals were wrong
His past wreaked of sin, his title a sinner
As he sat there and waited for oh so long
He seemed to live on as the world grew thinner
Family and friends vanished, those he'd known all his life
And shattered foundations left his will near broken
With the world he lived in consumed by strife
It was certain, the Lords judgment would soon be spoken
Grief at its worst he sought to mend his sores
But upon reaching the pier something dropped his jaw
He found himself gazing at red seas and dead shores
As fear now consumed him from the images he saw
Waves crashed against rocks, with winds nonexistent
Bolts of lightning took the sky without a great storm
Darkness imprisoned the land, growing ever persistent
For the beast had arrived in its most horrendous form
It stood right beneath the now crimson skies
With its wings spread wide seeming miles apart
Staring down at the man with its cold black eyes
As the poor soul awaited his judgment to start
With darkness slowly surrounding, he fell to his knees
As he prayed a prayer of all prayers, crying "Lord Please!"
"Forgive me my sins, for I used the wrong mind
My fate is so just, to be left behind!"
"I'll always have faith, wherever I go
Even if you send me to the depths down below
If you leave me to burn please know it to be true
That every eternal flame in hell represents my infinite love for you!"
At the end of his prayer the man stood up tall
For in his last act he'd given his heart's all
With the claws of the beast approaching he closed his eyes
Until hearing the beautiful sound of the beast's foul cries
Blood red skies now turned into gold
As a stairway from heaven began to unfold
Seven trumpeters descended to announce the Lord's presence
Darkness simply cowered before his quickly growing essence
Chains of white light which were ever so blinding
Surrounded the beast and kept him in binding
Violent waves became calm, the red waters turned clear
Streaks of lightning turned to doves, for the Lord was thus here!
There was pure silence after the trumpeters stopped
When he walked down the steps, to their knees they dropped
With his mighty left hand he lifted the pier
Gazing at glory the man could only shed a tear
God opened his right hand, for it had concealed
All the man's family and friends, which were now revealed
They looked onto him as they held out their hands
To a battered old man facing the Lord of the lands
At seeing this sight the man collapsed into tears
Relief overwhelmed him "They've been with you all these years!"
His grief finally passing he then lifted his face
As he listened to his father hearing the words of pure grace
"My child you kneel before me out of love and respect
You've spent enough time on your past to reflect
By your immovable faith I was dearly moved
Your devotion to your king you have definitely proved
You still remain here not to be punished or taught
You still remain here because there is a war to be fought
I have left you here for eternity so long
For you are my angel, now you must stand strong!"
With this being said the man stood to his feet
Withdrawing God's sword as darkness began to retreat
He then noticed the faithful around him, for they too had a glow
Together in unity they would strike the last blow
He spoke very proudly, sword aimed at the beast's eyes
"By the end of this day your grip on our hearts finally dies!"
It was that very day the beast's hopes were forever burned
For on that grand old day our Lord Christ had returned
Through his wrath and mercy he shares his love
In an instance just one man's story
Can show the power of the man above
Since life had made him soft and brittle
All that remained was his faith everlasting
But though he gripped tightly to something so little
