what love is there that takes no pride
In holding candles to his love beside
You tell me that   her eyes are bright
I'll hold for you a brighter light
I'll tell you where true love resides
In each her strong and constant strides
what is more gift then what she gives
where is more love then how she lives

You praise the beauty of her hair
Of all the gifts her heart may share
There's deeper loves then we may know
In filtered light of sunsets glow
But there's no love to me  more  dear
Then when her little toes appear

(((((Barry)))), do you

(((((Barry)))), do you realize someday, when you have been designated the Shakespeare of the 2nd decade of the 22nd century, my toe will then have been immortalized? You're crazy and that's just one of the reasons I love you. Trouble is I don't know your ummm.. well enough to give him a name.... ~A "What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal." Albert Pine

Well if you saw the toe in question you would understand. It has a little German albino turtle face on it. B

Humor and love are

Humor and love are inseperable. It is largely through that door that we are approchable and most real.In my opinion the element of fun dosn't detract, but affirms the connection of love. Never underestamate the power of humor. No armies can clash if their laughing, and speaking of diminished signifigance have you filed those toe nails lately.hehe.B

You are so right, Boni. The sonnet is a pure love poem...and the dedication though sweet, did serve to trivialize it in its humourous quality. Thank you. ~A "What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal." Albert Pine

The poor underrated little

The poor underrated little toe never gets any love and the second the little guy gets a pat on the head everybodys down on me. It is in their lack of glory that their charm , beauty, and poise lay .(no there's not a fetish)To not overlook the smallest of ones attributes insures that nothing is overlooked. There is a method to the seeming maddness of humor. To kiss your lovers toe is to say; I am nothing, and only through love can I live.Everything must be viewed in context, and layer upon layer brings to our eyes the vistas of mountain peaks, and to get there you need those little darlings too. we

Toe to toe, and eye to eye,

Toe to toe, and eye to eye, and everything in between. Some parts get a better reception then others, but it's all good. when the music starts, and the dance begins. Watch your toes. I intend to. w

I really enjoyed the reading of this piece. It was beautifully constructed. And the reading of all the comments was a real hoot. Always, Cat

Tales-TOES in candle light!!!!!

Tales-TOES in candle light:- This little piggy went to market = big toe this little piggy stayed at home = next toe this little piggy had roast beef this little piggy had none and this little piggy said: wee wee wee wee all the way home = little toe Which one is pum, or is it a pun! "You tell me that   her eyes are bright".....why the gap? "what is more gift then what she gives
where is more love then how she lives"...............then-THAN? X2 "There’s deeper loves then we may know" ....then again? "Then when her little toes appear" and again then? "But there’s no love to me  more  dear" gaps? Does she have to go to the hair dresser with it/them then??? From seeing the comments I'm waiting for Anna's riposte, the poem about the floggle toggle par excellence ( it can say wee wee) we wish to see one sister Anna!!! Hilarious Barry Oh! Love from Ann
