Burlesque Valentine
In need of a friend I came to you.
not a lover, a willing comrade.
No kisses, no hugs, just an ear,
with fervor unnoticed, a blockade.
My fantasy, my delusion rapt me,
snivelling, crushed in fairyland.
An accidental touch from you,
feelings of arousal summoned.
If minds could meld, you’d have seen,
I was solely trapped in the anecdote.
Head to the side, sneaking a glance,
a reverie I see, and sugarcoat.
Looking back, I don’t feel repentant,
it was an epoch when love was plausible.
In the land of fairies, I transport to dream,
where being your Valentine’s possible.
