Death by Poison - (alcoholism)

Tainted water you once drank seeking to quench uncomprehensed thirst. As quickly as it came eager cells devoured it's substance and into your soul this poison liquid it spread. Unceasingly, unceasingly your throat it burned with vigour and your tongue it swelled until you were choking for air. A little second's satisfaction came at high cost for more and more you drank until into oblivion your soul was beyond repair. You died and lived, died again yet continued to live only to understand that your only understanding was your desperate desire to want to understand. You know not still nor ever would you know... For soon enough it took too far and your empty soul 'twas filled with hollow and endless ominous death's sweet bitter embrace.

Thank you so much for your comment =) I've come to this realisation that for some people our greatest enemy can be our circumstances - but it's almost easier to overcome those sort of challenges because you can see who and what you are trying to fight against. But when your greatest enemy becomes yourself and your own weaknesses thats when your true strength is measured because suddenly you're fighting against demons that you can't see... imagine trying to defend yourself against skilled assasins blindfolded... unless you're Jackie Chan in some cool action movie you're bound to loose, because well we're not all as cool as Jackie Chan :P =)

Beautifully written Kassie and with true empathy. My sister Catherine died as a result of Chronic Alcoholism, age only 52. She struggled with it for 20 years or more and finally lost the battle. She tried many times to change, but her life failed her and she always went back to the bottle and her body couldn't take any more abuse. Thank you so much for sharing your story with me =) heehee I'm sure that you would also know that amazing feeling you feel when you've got all these words stuck in your head and then finally after a few hours after sitting hunched up at a desk and a bin full of scrunched up little balls of paper you finally get it right to string all these mixed up little words into a few sentences that actually make a little sense. Wow - just that feeling of release. Pretty amazing =D but even more amazing is when someone out there finds something meaningful in that little string of sentences. Thank you for touching my heart with your story. =)

Heehee thanks Ziggy =) Its really hard to find time to write nowadays hence the fact that ive taken so long to reply (heehee I'm really sorry) I'm in my last year of school and it seems like our education departement just love amusing themselves by bombarding us with heaps of work.. Can't wait til this is over- then it's just me (a pen and paper) and a love affair with litterature =) cant wait!
