Death by Poison - (alcoholism)
Tainted water you once drank
seeking to quench
uncomprehensed thirst.
As quickly as it came
eager cells devoured it's substance
and into your soul
this poison liquid it spread.
Unceasingly, unceasingly your throat
it burned with vigour
and your tongue it swelled until
you were choking
for air.
A little second's satisfaction
came at high cost
for more and more you drank
until into oblivion your soul was
beyond repair.
You died and lived, died again yet
continued to live
only to understand that your
only understanding
was your desperate desire to want
to understand.
You know not still
nor ever would you know...
For soon enough it took too far
and your empty soul 'twas filled
with hollow and endless
ominous death's sweet bitter embrace.
