FRIENDSHIP

 FRIENDSHIP

Kikut shone like a jewel just out of reach,

like you there on the shores of life's great oceans habits

schooled in shoals of books from library shelves,

we kid ourselves we know, we know the why

and yet we cry in knowledge not enlightened,

as the human needs are supple soft and tried,

they stiffen in the morning sun then ripen

when we least expect the moon to turn the tide,

and there on shores of desolate abandon

learn deeper sorrows, lifted by the flow of flotsam jetsam,

thrown about when winds begin to blow.

We do not know, we never know

all life is full of learning

when not to go, when not to do,

when not to even stir a limb

we seek, we reap, we sow again our wisdom limited and green,

and yet we find a way, our own and not what others say, is done,

its ours uniquely spun on rows of prayer wheels turning, ever turning

reaching what we feel, another sense of zeal,

as riches pour from where we know not

give us joys we never dreamed of,

sadness and despair unthought of, life's just what we are

so try to see the shining blue beyond the clouds of falling dew,

for you have me and I have you and that's the greatest gift,

the one that sea swells lift on high and make our senses shout and fly,

in ever bright white light, the warmth of friendship

in the ovens burnt, a glaze on life's dull pot, without the dirt and soot.

Ann

A special lovely piece full of memories and things just to do. A freedom running as the waves crash on the shore where no-one would dare say stop. The feelings you have young Ann are held in awe of all that is good which reflects your soul, a beauty of words and deeds, Yours Ian.T

What does one answer to that?

Ann of Norway You are a fine commenter when you drop in to see me, thank you this time, and I am pleased this one pleased you; I do feel sometimes as if I were crashing through a poem, as if I were the waves themselves reading my words from the sands on the bottom, and just letting them come. Love from young me.

Oh do you really wear a hat Lonnie?

Ann of Norway Those were the days, harken to the old dame, but they did, they did tip their hats to us when I was little and opened doors and generally respected us, at least that's how I felt it, as if they recognised that one existed and that was nice don't you think?I never looked down on them rather quite the opposite. But I thank you for your rosy comment, I blush-if I could!!!

Friendship...

is more than just saying. It is the emotive response to another human-being. The Queen has my friendship and loyalty, for all time. It is an honor to be listed amongst the Queen's friends, one that I cherish. Your wisdom shines here. We cannot ever know all there is to know, but should strive always to find out. Love, from your faithful knight, ~ Sir Gee

Og good Sir Gee

Ann of Norway The feeling is mutual, towards all you lovely people on Neopoets who react to my poems with such remarks, I am truly honoured to be a memebr of your famiy and feel that you are close friends, just down the road at the café we meet each day and have such wonderful conversations, don't we all? Thank you my Knight of the realm, your medals glow all the way to here. I see you keep them well polished too! My good kind subject from your Queen.

Yes have you done that?

Ann of Norway Suddenly on a grey blakc heavy day there comes a gap and one's spirit soars towards it and through into another place more beautiful, more shining and lovely; as when a good friend comes up and puts their hand on one's shoulder in sympahy for something, that moment is the same thing isn't it Judyanne? WOW PAMELA!!

Ann of Norway OH what a splendid, no what's THE word? Wonderful, mind blowingly, twirlingly head spinning comment dear Pamela. The feeling is mutual. Absolutely so. I am in awe of your way of sensing things and writing your flowing words. My head will soon be so big that my shoulders won't support it, but although it is wonderful, just wonderful to be praised, in the end it is our own critical eye that judges our creation and sees the holes and weaknesses each time they are read don't you feel? So one's head stays a constant shape, thank goodness!!! That was not to belittle your comment, I an honoured and pleased beyond measure at it. THANK YOU PAMELA. My love to you and your pen from Ann

ma'am

This is the first poem of urs I've ever read I thought u were only a teacher but alas.... I dare to comment. Please do forgive me for my maiden venture or misadventure. LOVED If I dare to comment Upon the shores of glory you adorn It will be the end of dawn, That a new poet was born Out of wed lock of a poetic romance, Not shorn of love Yet one would adorn The poetic love That emerges In surges, From the heart of a non poet The song does rise It does one surprise, How dare one does craze To from the arena of poetic fiefdom glories erase Yet still dare to praise.

You flatter me, a non schooled 'poet' as I am,

Ann of Norway 'loved' You flatter me, a non schooled 'poet' as I am, but thank you for the compliment. We comment not to, and here's me saying this(!), not to show how clever we are ourselves, but to help the writer know that we have understood their message within the poem, show how we reacted to it and praise it when its good, but also and very important, if we feel we see something that troubles the flow or the meaning helping the poet to correct that as best we can; well that's my opinion. If I feel I cannot I don't. I don't comment just to keep my friends happy. I know I sometimes burst into poetry in my comments but hoping that that compliments the poetry at the same time. Its not a place to chat about the wind and weather, unless the poem is about those subjects, we don't need to iron out our personal problems here in public do we? I don't know what the others think? Yours Ann
